When the marketing team got together for the first time at the beginning of the year 2022 to plan the course of events, it was all too clear to us as to in what spirit it is heading to.
Our company is celebrating 10 years! And that is a jubilee we won’t avoid.
We started to come up with ideas how to creatively communicate this milestone on social media but also how to reward our loyal colleagues and clients. It was obvious that it wouldn’t work without a party. And also, who would want to celebrate birthday without a cake and presents?

We started with choosing a place for the event. Among the narrow selection were restaurants in the Dancing House, Zizkov Tower and Nebozizek. After three tours, menu tasting and careful consideration we opted for Nebozizek. The main deciding factor was the ability to spend the evening inside and out. But we were seized by the view the most too.
We introduced the plan to our “holy trinity” as we sometimes dub Granton’s top management. We fine-tuned the date of the event and started the cooperation with graphic designer Lukas to design invitations, gifts and other marketing items. .

When the D-day came, some of us had to think hard what does it mean business casual. After some long covid years we had to leave track pants at home and pray that old dresses, skirts or suits would still fit us. Our star HR team never disappoints though and that’s why they sent an instruction to all who wouldn’t know what to choose from their wardrobe. However, anyone is entitled to make a mistake and that’s why we received an email with instructions below.
Luckily nobody turned up there in their bathrobe so instead of an unpleasant faux-pas we were enjoying the beautiful atmosphere of Nebozizek at sunset.

HR team, after the revival of one of its members who walked up to the Nebozizek, started with preparations roughly 4 hours prior to the whole event. Lukas brought all necessary components for assembly of the gifts and so we started to fill beautiful black boxes with prosecco and two champagne glasses engraved with Granton’s logo. After some time, our COO Tom came to help us too, because he isn’t scared of any work and any opportunity to help (especially with filling balloons with helium). I dare you to guess how many unbroken glasses we brought down at the end when the party finished?

Some of us chose a more convenient way to Nebozizek and that’s the way down. After running down on pavers (that was in case of us who were wearing high heels not the best choice- light euphemism), we were greeted with a backdrop like from a Hollywood romantic comedy; The Sun, that was slowly setting, balloons in the company’s colours, tower made of gifts and colleagues in well fitted suits with welcome drinks in their hands.
The whole evening was lined with pleasant music, laugh, good food and drinks. Even the speech from our CEO Honza didn’t take up longer that the clock hand run ninety-degree sector which some of us and that is coming from an experience were slightly afraid of. After an emotional moment and reminiscing it was time to cut the cake. The delight of chocolate and raspberry, it was like the fate wanted me to have more than one piece…
The sentiment was carried further through the barman and his show, that at least at our table brought memories of graduation balls.
With more time passing by and more empty glasses from variety of drinks that were piling up in front of us the more informal conversations and daring jokes were made.
We said good-bye to the waiting staff and some weaker members, sorry Martin and Lukas, and you Anicka, just after midnight. The rest of us under the motto “heavenly team” carried further to the big city lights and set the bar for next ten years a bit higher.
